OFFICIAL RULES:
SPRING CLEANING SWEEPSTAKES The following sweepstakes is intended for play in the U.S. only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to U.S. laws. Do not enter this sweepstakes if you are not located in the U.S. at the time of entry. 1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING. OPEN TO ANY LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE 48 U.S. CONTIGUOUS STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO IS 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER (19 IN AL AND NE) AS OF DATE OF ENTRY. SWEEPSTAKES IS SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, TAXED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. Employees of 3M Company (“Sponsor”) and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, sale representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and suppliers of promotion materials, and the members of the immediate families and households of each, are not eligible. Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Central Time (“CT”) on March 20, 2006 and ends at 11:59:59 (CT) on June 1, 2006. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. 2. HOW TO ENTER: You may enter by mail or on the Internet.
Limit one (1) entry per person/household/e-mail address. All entries are the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering, participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules and the decisions of an independent judging agency, selected by Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. 3. PRIZES/ODDS: Grand Prize: One (1) grand prize winner will be awarded $5,000.00, which the winner may use towards maid services for a year. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $5,000.00. If winner cannot accept prize as stated, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen. Total ARV for all Sweepstakes prizes: $5,000.00. Odds of winning depend upon number of eligible entries received. All prizes will be awarded provided a sufficient number of entries are received. 4. DRAWING/NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Winners will be determined in a random drawing from all eligible entries received and/or postmarked by 11:59:59 p.m. Central Time (CT) on June 1, 2006. Drawing will be conducted under the supervision of an independent judging agency, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, and will take place on or around June 10, 2006. The winners will be notified by postal or certified mail. In case of dispute as to identity of a winner who enters online, winning entry will be declared made by the registered holder of the e-mail account, who must be eligible under and comply with these Official Rules. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with a prize of equal/greater value, if advertised prize becomes unavailable. All taxes will be the sole responsibility of the grand prize winner. Sponsor is not responsible for delays in delivery of the prize. Sponsor, however, shall use all reasonable efforts, subject to availability, to deliver the prize within 90 days after the receipt of a fully executed and notarized Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and a Publicity Release (optional in TN). 5. INFORMATION COLLECTED AND SUBMISSIONS: Participants acknowledge and agree that any information collected in connection with this Sweepstakes may be used by Sponsor for market research, and will not be shared with other organizations for commercial and other purposes. Once received, all entries and any optional submissions of comments or suggestions will become property of Sponsor, and none will be returned. Any submissions may be published on the Sponsor's web site or in other collateral materials at the Sponsor's discretion, and by entering, participants grant Sponsor a license to do so. By way of illustration and not limitation, Sponsor may use such information to contact participants by e-mail and/or mail to update them on products, services and upcoming events. You may opt off Sponsor's e-mail distribution list at any time by visiting www.filtrete.com and following the online instructions. Opting off the distribution list will not affect your chances of winning. Any information submitted to the above web site is subject to Sponsor's Privacy Policy located at www.3M.com/privacy.jhtml. 6. RELEASES: By entering, participant releases Sponsor, Prize Provider and the independent judging agency and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotional agencies, and the employees, contract workers, officers, directors and agents of any of the above organizations from any and all liability for any injuries, losses and damages to any person (including but not limited to death) and to property of any kind caused in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession or use/misuse of the prize or participation in any prize-related activities. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to the use of his/her name and address (city, state), photograph, likeness and statements made by the winner regarding the Sweepstakes and Sponsor for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide and on the Internet and World Wide Web, without notice, review or approval, where permitted by law. Winners will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of notification. If documents are not returned timely, or if prize notification or prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if a winner is found to be ineligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, prize to the winner (as deemed appropriate by Sponsor) will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. 7. RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND CANCEL: Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or web site, or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules; to be acting in violation of the terms of use of the web site, or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Participants may not enter using multiple e-mail addresses or as multiple entries. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple e-mail addresses or under multiple identities, or use any other device to enter multiple times will be disqualified. In the event of a dispute as to entries submitted by multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to participate in the Sweepstakes at the actual time of participation will be deemed to be the participant and must comply with these rules. Authorized account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization which is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor reserves the exclusive right to cancel the Sweepstakes should a virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention or other cause beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes. In such event, the prizes will be awarded to a winner by random drawing from all eligible entries received up to the time of cancellation. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. Sponsor may prosecute any fraudulent activities to the full extent of the law. The failure of either Sponsor or Prize Provider to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, act of domestic terrorism, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of either (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations) or other force majeure event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules. 8. WINNERS LIST: For the name of the winner, mail your name and complete address in a first class stamped envelope for receipt of name of winner by return mail to: Spring Cleaning Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 1122, Grand Rapids, MN 55745-1122. Requests must be received by June 30, 2006. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete or postage due mail/requests.
